With no instructions available, I browned the sausage and did not drain the grease. I added 3 tablespoons of butter and let it melt. I slowly added the four. I slowly added the milk (only 2 cups) and stirred it into the flour. I added the onion salt and pepper and kept stirring as it thickened. I served it over buttermilk biscuits.
