This was my first time making a turkey and it turned out great ๐๐ฆ Nice and juicy! I will definitely use this recipe again.
Notes (for myself):
Thawed for only about 30 mins. I used an 18lb turkey and cooked it at 335โฐ most of the time in hope that the slight temperature difference would help speed things up a little since I put it in late. In total it was in the oven for about 4hr 15mins. I did not have an oven rack or chopped veggies to elevate the bird so I took advice online and rolled up four balls of foil to rest it on top of. It browned nicely for ~2hr 30mins before I tented it with foil and I took it out after taking several measurements with the meat thermometer to ensure 160-165 internal temp.
2024 edit: took 4hr 20mins. I took out to thaw from 9am - 10am, had in the oven at about 10:30, and it was rested, carved & ready to eat at 4pm. I upped the ingredients in the butter a bit, and propped on top of celery, apple, onion, herbs. Moist and delicious
