Bland but rich? Hard to explain. Not worth the indulgence, it turned out fine and the recipe gave directions and cook times that worked perfectly. But the end result was the sauce was kind of thin (I thickened it with a little cornstarch slurry at the last second.) Good and worked to feed everyone with no complaints, but no raves either.
