Came out nicely and got really good reviews from my guests.
I think I would use slightly fewer pecans.
Chopping the apples took forever - I used about 4½ apples.
I'm not sure why, but I could not get the frosting to thicken. It ended up being more like a glaze. I tried mixing in the stand mixer for 15 minutes, added extra sugar, put it in the fridge overnight, and in desperation tried adding some cornstarch. Nothing worked! But it still tasted good.
