I used to bake professionally and followed this recipe as written (weighed things out and everything). I have to admit that I wanted to like these cookies more than I did. Compared to my usual sugar cookie recipe, I found them to be a bit dry, dense, and not particularly flavourful. They aren't BAD or anything but also not super delicious, and they went stale pretty quickly, despite my attempts to preserve them by sealing them away.
They'd still be great to make for kids to decorate because they're sturdy cookies and fairly easy to make. Plus, I think people have different preferences when it comes to sugar cookies. My boyfriend loves them and happily grabbed a few every time he passed by the kitchen until they were gone. Might just be me having different standards. 🤷♀️
