Thanks for the response. I made this last time using my version of black bean paste with store bought fermented beans, black garlic, and stock made from pork belly with fried aromatics, whole spices, and red Sichuan peppercorns. Finished it with a rich sesame oil and black vinegar. Definitely added some great complexity to the sauce and dish.
