Surprisingly tasty, and just a little different!
Having taken note from the reviews, I used a mixture of cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, and added a small can of green chilis to the dish. If I'd had a jalapeno or two, I would have chopped and added them instead of the can. I also picked gala apple, because it's my favourite and actually softens when cooked. I think it would be easy to sub sweet potato, squash, parsnip or carrot if someone was looking to go less sweet.
I made it with a smoky cherry-jalapeno barbecue sauce I found, and the whole family enjoyed it a lot; it was delightfully different and an excellent way to use up leftover chicken if you have it.
