The finished soup was good, it was filling while still light, but I had to make some adjustments. After reading some reviews, I went ahead and added an extra can of beans, half of it was blended and the other half added to the pot, right out of the gate, and also adjusted the herbs/spices a bit. I still found it thin enough to thicken it with corn starch (made a slurry using a small amount of broth). I don't think it altered the taste, but it increased the cooking time by a few minutes. I also added some cooked and chopped bacon at the end to placate my husband, and I think it tasted great.
