My wife doesn't like marinara, so we substituted with cream of mushroom and it turned out great. The interior was savory and hearty and complemented the bell pepper well. I took the bell peppers out too soon when softening them, so they still had a bit of crunch - delicious, but hard to eat. I'll definitely leave them in next time.
