← Replies in Beef Stroganoff Recipe

I made this for the 1st time today. I used a boneless ribeye steak. I normally can not get steak right... always over cook it. I was a little nervous about messing up an $18 steak but with these directions it came out perfect. Yay! That being said I did forget to salt the veges/sauce but since I had salted the steak it still turned out good. I ask my fiance to rate my new dishes 1-10... he gave this one an 11! :D Next time I'll remember the salt! I picked this recipe bcuz it looked closest to my mom's stroganoff. It was close but I felt like something more than salt was missing. Next time I'll add some garlic. I'll also snip those steak strips into smaller pieces after they are seared. This is the 2nd dish I've made from this app & I have to say I find the prep time & cook times are not accurate. Took about 20 mins prep & over 30 mins to cook. I used the right amount of broth but it seemed like I had way more liquid than in the video. It took a long time for the veges to cook down & the sauce to thicken. I used corn starch instead of flour. Anyone have any tips for me?

Mine is not thick, it’s more runny but my cousin said it’s not supposed to be thick so I felt better. I kinda combine this recipe with the Natasha’s recipe if you look up beef stroganoff on here. I like the Worcestershire sauce on that one and I lean a bit more towards it…give it a try!

Try adding some Worcestershire sauce when you add the wet ingredients. I think you’ll find that bit of umami is what you’re missing!

Lisa, thank you. My mom's was always thicker like an Alfredo sauce but not :) I'll check out Natasha's.
