I generally use this recipe for chocolate cake. I usually use hot coffee instead of hot water and espresso powder. I also tend to use sour cream and milk mixed together instead of milk. I tried brown butter instead of oil and added a tablespoon of milk. Adds a little something interesting. Have to remember to mix well after adding hot liquid as if you don't, the cakes fall in.
