We like grilled tuna. My husband wanted to try this as an alternative to the traditional soy based marinades used for tuna. I used 2 tuna steaks that together were just a little over one pound and between 1/2 and 5/8 inches thick. The recipe does not mention the weight of the tuna steaks. Since the average tuna steak served in restaurants is 6 ounces, I made 1.5 batch of the marinade but used only 1/2 tsp of fine sea salt. I marinated for approximately 45 minutes. We grilled on a Blackstone flat top grill for @ 90 seconds per side. I served them with asparagus tossed with olive oil, grated garlic, black pepper and salt also grilled and the sprinkled liberally with grated asiago (covered with foil to allow the cheese to melt while the tuna cooked).
My husband said the tuna tasted primarily lemony on first bite (which is not a good thing in his book) but then said as he ate more the taste changed and that he really liked it enough to have it again.
