I made this for myself and husband. I used Greek yogurt instead of the milk. I also did as some others suggested I used some minced onion, smoked paprika, thyme and Rosemary along with the ranch seasoning.
I browned the chicken first on saute. Then put it up on the rack so it would not stick to the bottom of the pan. Added all the veggies. I also used chicken stock instead of water.
Mine was creamy and did not need to have thickening. I also used 1 cream or chicken and 1 cream of mushroom.
