made these and they melted all into one super thin giant cookie, more like crunchy chocolate bark. Not sure how to make them more cookie like.

Did you allow 2 inches between each cookie? Maybe try allowing more space between cookies or using teaspoons to measure instead of tablespoons next time and they might come out better.
