That's the spirit! Get the kids used to cooking in general so they learn to appreciate food and the effort that goes into making dinner. They will grow intellectually and develop more refined palates. I'm not suggesting that you chain your kids to the stove, but teaching them an appreciation for the art will enrich their lives in the future. I started helping mom in the kitchen by age 3 and was able to make full dinners by 9, so don't underestimate their ability or creativity. But you aren't going to do that because you're a good mom.
