This is quite a detailed recipe. An easier method is:
Smoked salmon 1 pack, (4 oz) shredded
Cream cheese, 8 oz, homemade is matchless, warm so it can be stirred easily
Shredded cheese 2 cups, your choice of flavors, mixed, matched, whatever
Stir the above together until mixed as much as you like it and it balls up by itself. Then either make 1 big ball or use 1/4 cup at a time and make individual servings. You can leave them "as is" or roll them in nuts, chopped or not, or more shredded cheese. Make them pretty with: pickled beets, olives, pimento, stuffed olives, pickle relish, capers, etc.
