Made this, but used lime juice as I had used the zest in the recipe I made to go with this and didn’t want to waste it. I also mixed the aioli with gojuchang paste for my recipe, but will definitely try it as it is written the next time I make it. I did add a little extra mayo to thicken the sauce some, but that’s personal preference.
It came out delicious this way, so I definitely recommend it as a base for the spicy aioli sauces out there (like sriracha or chili).
The family loved it, I honestly felt it was the best part of the meal, and as I said earlier, I will definitely use it again!
Although it isn’t the traditional aioli (just garlic and olive oil), this is absolutely what most of us are expecting when looking for an aioli sauce- after all, it is a cheater’s version!
