It would have been better if I had the 7” pan in the instructions, but I only had 9” and chose to do a 2 layer cake instead.
Because I didn’t have quite the “layer” effect that makes this cake impressive, I did concentric circles of cream and jam (I opted for rose petal) on the inner layer, and then dressed it with more cream & jam on top with cherries. I should have dried the cherries better, but the top layer I first spread a layer of the cream and then did rosettes long the edges. The concentric circles were almost made of two layers of rosettes to hold the majority of the jam inside.
