A lovely recipe and very nostalgic for anyone who grew up eating crumbles in summer! I doubled the fruit part as I have a big ceramic tin for crumbles. I didn't need double the crumble topping however - about 1.25x the recipe as written was perfect.
I substituted 1/3 of the flour for oats and oat bran, which I recommend trying! Maybe it's a Scottish thing, but my Mum always puts oats in her crumble topping. I think next time I would substitute some of the brown sugar for white sugar, or use the lightest brown sugar I can find. The topping got dark quite quickly which made it a little hard to tell if it was done.
A versatile recipe which can be used with any fruit you can imagine - fresh, tinned or frozen.
