Yes, you are my best brother. We are all children of God. But I really should be referred to as "sister", don't you think?

If you have had enough, why, then, so have I. But always remember: no one else ever has the power to decide how you feel. You. And only YOU can decide how you feel. If people have the power to hate or be angry for no reason, they also have the power to love and be kind for no reason. For no reason at all, only that they decided to.

Once George Washington was walking down the street with a white friend. It was some what of a blustery day and a negro's hat blew into Mr. Washington's path. He caught it, brushed it off, and kindly returned it. "Why!" said the friend, "What did you do that for?! That man was NO Gentleman!" Washington replied softly, "Perhaps he isn't, but I am." Now, Urbain, YOU may not be a gentleman, but I can still be a lady. YOU may choose to be angry and sharp, but I can choose to respond with gentleness and love. I can't decide how you feel and I refuse to be liable for your decisions. But I can decide how I feel towards you. And, Urbain, I choose to love you. For no reason, just because I want to.

Everything you see, hear, or touch has a certain FEELING, and you can FEEL the difference between a truth and a lie. The problem is that we WANT to believe the lie and we don't WANT to believe the truth. You can feel the truth when I say "I love you, Urbain." But you don't want to believe it. So you turn to the lie of your pride and ego. But that is YOUR CHOICE. It doesn't change my feelings. It doesn't change the truth. And the truth is that I CHOOSE to love you. Anyway. Just because I can. And because I have CHOSEN to love you it makes it easy to forgive you. Now, Urbain, love yourself. Love yourself enough to forgive yourself. And forgive yourself enough to be kind and loving to others. You can choose. Choose happiness. Choose love.
