This is my favorite biscuit recipe, by far! Flaky, tall, and delicious. Even better then my mom's!. If you want to save some time, don't bother with the round biscuit cutter! Make them square instead! Here's how; leave your rolling pin in the drawer and use parchment paper and your hands to form and shape the dough! Prepare the dough. Cut 2 pieces of parchment paper, double the size of the mound of biscuits in the bowl. The paper needs to fold over the top of the mound so you can use it to create a airy rectangle. Take the parchment and place them on a cookie sheet forming a cross. The top piece of parchment should run the longer length of the cookie sheet. Dump the ingredients in the middle of the two parchment pieces. Starting with the height then alternating between the sides and the top, form a straight sided rectangle This is when the dough comes together! Press lightly to have the best outcome. Pull up on the parchment to help form the sides and corners. Pay attention to the top getting it as level as you can for even baking times. You can then use a flat sided dough scraper, or other straight sided utensil to move the top high spots and square the corners. Then use the same thin metal utensil, or knife to cut into squares, and push biscuits apart on the sides Finally, use cutting tool to push the a small space around each biscuit.
