For those who say it stays liquid, you just have to be patient. If you boil the liquid long enough and stir continuously it does eventually thicken up. The first time I made it, I didn't have the heating high enough and it took a VERY long time to thicken, the second time I turned the heat up and it thickened quicker, it does take patience though.
