Excellent, and very lemony cake. I put whipped cream and blueberry preserves between the layers, and coated the cake with the cream cheese icing- I highly recommend this alternative to cut down on the sweetness.
This is probably one of my favourite cakes I've baked in quite a while and well worth the effort.
I made it for my daughter's birthday, and she definitely approved - also the vanilla-lemon scent is one you'll love smelling in your house.
