Thai basil has a taste similar to black licorice which my husband and I don't like which is unfortunate because that's what every bite of this curry is infused with. Nothing wrong with the recipe, just deficiencies in our taste buds.
Thai Eggplant is also a veg neither of us have tried before, and while I thought it was fine, it gave my husband the ick. He couldn't finish his meal.
