It mostly tasted of salt and bicarbonate. Pretty sure I followed it to the recipe to the letter but sadly this was the worst Victoria Sponge cake I have made. Upset from Nigela

Hi, did you use bicarbonate of soda instead of baking powder? I didn’t see any bicarbonate in the recipe. I know it’s frustrating when you have wasted all the ingredients, but try again and I’m sure you’ll have a different outcome. Hope that helps, happy baking.
