We liked this a lot more than we thought we might, and my husband wants it again! I needed to get rid of my chili sauce and some peanuts, so I landed on this. And, we'll probably make it again even when we don't have to get rid of ingredients.
This might be a weird way to describe it, but it kind of falls between a lot of different recipe categories, so I'm not sure who would like this most? Kind of a "jack of all trades, master of none" type recipe? It's kind of healthy with all the greens, but not really healthy with the ground beef and tortilla. It's kind of fast, but the prep takes longer than the name indicates. It's kind of asian food with the 5 spice, chili, etc, but doesn't really hit the same way real asian food does. Etc etc you get the idea.
That said, it was a kind of fun fusion recipe and we'll make it again. I think it's a good base to experiment with. I'd use the full suggested amount of 5 spice powder. I think I might try these with rice paper instead of the tortillas and experiment with different soy sauces to get a slightly different flavor. I'd definitely take the time to grill the tortillas when they're assembled so they don't fall apart as easy.
