After the initial 15 minutes and putting the sauce on, it takes another 30-40 minutes of cooking. I checked the core temperature every 10 minutes as the recipe didn't specify cooking time. I made a separate sauce ( heated up) with a sprinkle garlic power, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of smoked paprika for the table.

Hi, Christina, the recipe actually does specify a cooking time for after the sauce is added, it says 8-10 minutes. The total cooking time for the meatloaf is therefore 23-25 minutes (the 15 minutes before adding the sauce, and then the 8-10 minutes afterwards). This is a 1 pound meatloaf and that is about the right amount of time that it should need to cook. You didn't have trouble with burning or overcooking? Did you perhaps make a meatloaf that is larger than 1 pound? Or were you somehow looking at a different recipe (since mine does have the time specification that you mentioned is missing)?
