Are you sure it should be 1 tablespoon of baking powder??? For 12 cupcakes??? That don't sound right.... Edit: nevermind I should've followed the recipe, they would've rizen more if I've added 1tbsp of baking powder instead of just 2 tsp. All in all they look and taste alright and I think my friends will love them. It also made 23 mini muffins so thats that

I've made them and used what it said they were fine. Very arry like you've over mixed but I didn't. Think that was the baking powder. But yeah I think next time I'm going to reduce the baking powder by half.
