Well it is definitely the best ever tasting flapjack I have ever eaten. However it does not hold together at all well. Maybe too large a oat size. Or possibly too much water in the date mixture. It is a right faff trying to spread the date mixture out over the oats as well.
I made a large amount 1.5 the mixture recommended and a 13 x 9” tin and I even cooked it for 5 minutes longer this time.
I admit to using a plant based butter this time but last time standard butter. Sorry to all the vegans but standard butter was a superior flavour but again I’d say very little to help the texture issues.
I will try to find the best flapjack that holds together and add mixed spice to the mixture (divine) and add chopped dates to the recipe to replace some of the oats. As it is the best ever flavour. The search continues…..
