I'd recommend a harissa sauce or paste! There's a brand I use, called Mina, that's more of a sauce and you can get it in mild, medium or hot :) I've made something very similar to this before with the mina and loved it (but mine used tomato sauce as well).

Yes the Mina one is really good and can be found at most grocery stores!

So I just made it and this is how it came out- it tastes good. but nothing like the picture that was posted. I didn't have cayenne, used pepper flakes, bit I doubt 1/2 tsp cayenne would have given me that beautiful rich red color. And I partly pureed it, it's still more of a soup. Any thoughts?

The harissa paste is what gives the red color, also some extra virgin olive oil drizzle on top for flavor and garnish with more harissa (if you like spice) plain yogurt and cilantro/parsley

And yes it's supposed to be soupy but the bread you plate it on should absorb a lot of the soup
