I love the texture. I used a (tasteless) butternut squash and added 1/4 cup of homemade date syrup, and it wasn't really sweet. The chocolate chips adds a lot to it. I'd do a double batch next time as these only fill a muffin cup halfway, so it kind of makes 12 half-muffins.
Update: Since then I made them with sweet potatoes and they're amazing. It became one of my favourite muffins.
