I did slightly different. I browned the pork first in just a little oil.
For the sauce, I used:
2/3 cup honey
1/2 cup chicken broth
ginger paste *1 spoon
chunky garlic paste *1 spoon
1 spoon minced garlic (in jar)
1/2 cup ketchup
1/3 cup *Kikkoman Sweet Soy Sauce
(for fried rice)
cornstarch for thickening.
I also chopped up some onion and pepper, & sautéed separate from crock pot to add with the meat over rice. To the sliced onions and chopped peppers I added a little olive oil, garlic seasoning, and seasoned rice vinegar.
It's kind of like sweet and sour pork.
