I really wanted to love this recipe! I was out of bell peppers, and had two slender garnet yams, so my changes to the recipe were to add a jalapeño pepper as well as one white russet potato. We served broccoli and whole wheat couscous with the tagine.
My issues were it was rather dry and bland. Not enough spice. If I make this again I will definitely use bell peppers and chicken thighs instead of breast meat, and maybe some chicken broth - not a lot, maybe half a cup.
I was excited about the raisins, and they were nice, but after cooking for 6 hours in the crockpot they didn’t add much flavor. So, again, next time I think I would cook this on the stove top for about 40 minutes.
