I really wanted this recipe to work.
Ended up having to tweak the sauce because even with the low sodium soy and little sodium chicken broth, it was still very salty. But I made it through that and I put the dish together and put it in the crock pot for 4 hours. The directions were a bit confusing because they said to add the veggies after 3 hours, but then later on it says to add the bell peppers, and those are the only veggies in the recipe, so I don't know what veggies it was talking about.
But after 4 hours it really tasted great, and I was very happy with it. And then I added the cornstarch slurry, as directed, and the whole sauce changed. You could taste the cornstarch, it totally messed up the texture, and in my opinion it was inedible.
I was incredibly unimpressed with this recipe, and I'm really sad that I wasted 4 hours and three lbs of chicken on it.
