I made the recipe just as the instructions said but modified it based on a couple of reviewers' notes: (1) I used 3/4 cup of brown sugar instead of the full serving of white sugar (this gave a mild sweetness), and (2) when baking time reached 35 minutes, I began using a tootpick test every two minutes until there was no more gooeyness in the center. Total baking time for me at 350 in a one loaf pan was 43 minutes. The bread was spongy and overall great tasting.
