Step 3 says to pour bacon grease into a bowl because will need to use it later. What do we mix grease with and how much?

I pour a little bit into the pasta during the second step (once the pasta, milk, and stock are together) it's quite good, be careful if you're pouring hot grease straight into the pot though as it can crackle a bit
