As much as this is a nice sentiment, for many margarine is a cheaper option. While I don't personally use it, I would never shame others for it nor imply that it means they cannot cook.

Margarine is also a good substitute for butter if you have a dairy allergy. I prefer to get more expensive butter substitutes since they work better, but I only use those when absolutely necessary taste and texture wise.
