I love simple traditional village - style Lebanese cooking. I adapt this recipe to give a bit of a flavour boost for today’s palette. I add a couple of teaspoons of arabic 7 spice to the tomato paste, some harissa and a cinnamon stick. I also add a little fresh coriander and chicken stock in place of the water. Lovely simple recipe that has a nice gentle heat. Serve with traditional butter vermicelli rice 😊
