I left out pecans, I had no nutmeg. Otherwise followed the recipe. I did put the bread in a bowl and poured the egg mixture over it and gently folded it over and over to make sure it all was coated, put in pan. Then put in fridge covered for about 3-4 hrs. Then baked covered, then put topping on and baked longer as per recipe. It was really good but reminded me of bread pudding. I served breakfast sausage links with it. Everyone ate it up.
