Start by sautéing half a chopped yellow onion, add 2 cloves chopped garlic, then add canned tomatoes and stock per recipe.
Skim scum off top as nessecary.
Add 1/4 tsp baking soda if too bitter/acidic
Add 2 oz finely grated parmesan and fresh chopped basil. Add half chopped yellow onion and 2 cloves chopped garlic. Immersion blend until desired consistency.
To taste: S&P, ground red pepper, ground thyme.
Garnish with additional Parmesan and basil
