I used 1 cup of buttermilk in place of the milk and sour cream and added a dash of almond extract to the cake. I used powdered sugar in place of granulated sugar for the whipped cream for a bit more stability in the frosting (which worked out great as the pic shows!). Also I was told the lemon flavor can overtake the flavor of the strawberries so unless you like lemon, zest cautiously. Super easy (a lot steps but worth it!) and delicious recipe 🍓☺️
