First time making an actual shepherd's pie (lamb and not beef). I used fresh herbs because I had them on hand and diced fresh carrots. I forgot that fresh carrots need longer to cook to soften and added them at the end with the frozen peas, so the carrots were still a bit too crunchy when we ate them. Even so, this recipe was the best I've made and my family enjoyed it. Next time I'll add the fresh carrots to cook with the onions.
