Skipped the fruits and made with mushrooms instead. Liked the idea and everything tasted good, but it didn't really harmonize completely. Found the texture of acorn squash a little starchy for me personally and we'll try this again baking smaller chunks of the squash to out the flavor all through it and having the filling separate. That said the halves are very fancy looking. 😁 VERY filling - made two squashes for two people and there's half the dish leftover. Will likely reheat in the oven. My partner liked the skin a lot, which is edible!
