I made this a second time and used the 2 cups of water. The liquid still didn't reduce down and get thick. I followed the recipe exactly, so I'm not sure what went wrong.
This was just ok. I cooked it in the crockpot and reduced the water to 1.5 cups as instructed. Once I reduced the liquid, I had less than a quarter of a cup left. I ended up adding a can of chicken broth so it wasn't so dry. If I made it again, I'd add at least the 2 cups of water it called for, if not a little more. I'd probably also increase the amounts of spices.
