My cheap version of this dish is a winner in my family. I made it with a 420g tin of Tuna, frozen peas and corn and 350g of almost out-of-date penne I had in the cupboard. The only thing I actually did according to the recipe was the sauce… but it worked out so well anyway. My sous chefs were very heavy handed on the cheesey top, but both agree after eating that it wasn’t necessary because the sauce is so cheesy.
I made this yesterday for dinner today. A simple microwave reheat per piece (2 mins on high) with about the same under the grill to brown the cheesy top and you’re away.
