I'll start off by saying I have a Ninja Foodi Grill. Second, I used the air fryer setting for 14 minutes at 390f and fried a single 1" thick ribeye steak.
This air fryer is starting to make me question the reality of cooking. Not only am I a home cook for multiple decades, with almost an exclusive focus on cooking meat, but I'm a strong advocate for grilled and pan seared steak. I'm usually a fan of pan searing steak, seasoned with salt and pepper, in clarified butter then adding in thyme, and removing the steak then letting it rest.
Today, I cooked a ribeye steak at 390° f in my Ninja Foodi Grill at 14 minutes and flipped it halfway. Seasoning only with salt and pepper, the taste and moisture in the meat was unparalleled after letting it rest.
I don't know what kind of wizardry this is, but this was almost one of the best steaks I've ever had. I honestly can't remember the last time I had a steak that good (but that's probably my short-term memory). Either way this is really worth giving a go even if you're skeptical because the least I can imagine you getting is a decent steak.
This was knockout for me, despite me skepticism. But what really sealed the deal? Easiest cleanup ever.
