Simple recipe, but it makes a good portion, which means you can feed an army or have leftovers and experiment with sides and such. (Also, used too sweet a BBQ sauce, so I added some spices and heated it up a bit too much for the consensus. So I used maple syrup to resweeten it and the final result was very well received.
Also fun to experiment with different BBQ sauces. Next experiment is with blueberry preserves and a BBQ sauce. Then a locally made BBQ sauce that is my favorite by miles.
*Edit - I used the blueberry preserves and Stubb's Spicy BBQ and it was darned near perfect for me. (Obviously, if you don't like some heat, use a less spicy sauce. I added a little maple syrup again, but thought about brown sugar and just didn't pull that trigger.)
