I loved that the natural sugar from the dates is all you need to make a delicious and refreshing treat. I barely noticed that I wasn't drinking a normal shake from a fast food place other than the fact I didn't feel sluggish after the fact. I didn't have trouble blending. I used a little less ice because I have a small blender. I also froze my half avocado and banana prior to blending. I recommend being sure to remove the skin and pits of your dates though, after soaking them in the hot water!! ;)
