I used 1/2 lb bacon cut into pieces and fried until crispy in my Dutch oven. My pasta choice was bow-ties tonight. Kept some pasta water in reserve, but I didn't need to use mine. 1 jar of sauce is perfect, but some will like more. I served this with some parmesan cheese and it was delicious! I'm sure you could also do this recipe with tuna on a night that you don't have bacon.
