Got a story with this recipe.
Instructions say to move the rack to the top of the oven and broil the marshmallows for 60 seconds. When I did this, I apparently put it too high, as it caught fire within 50 seconds. Like completely engulfed in flames sort of fire (see top photo).
I screamed, grabbed it with my oven mitts, ran outside, and the fire went out. I was about to toss the whole thing right in the trash, but my husband decided to try and save it. He peeled off all the charred remains of marshmallow and burnt parchment paper, and we put on a new layer of marshmallows to broil on a lower rack. Worked like a charm, and the brownies were delicious (see bottom photo).
Highly recommend for those who like s’mores and brownies! They are actually fire 🔥
